Dumac's History

Dumac was the last king and ruler of the Dwemer in Resdayn (modern day Morrowind) during the late First Era. He united the various Dwemer clans in Resdayn and led them against the invading Nords during the Skyrim Conquests in 1E 416. Dumac formed an alliance called the First Council with Indoril Nerevar, uniting the Chimer and Dwemer clans to push the Nords out of Morrowind. This alliance brought unprecedented prosperity to both Dwemer and Chimer cultures. However, one Dwemer clan called the Rourken refused to join the alliance. For centuries, peace was maintained between the Dwemer and Chimer under the leadership of Dumac and Nerevar. Dumac attended the coronation of Emperor Gorieus in 1E 461, representing Resdayn. Unknown to Dumac, one of his advisers named Kagrenac was experimenting to try and attain godhood using the immense power of the Heart of Lorkhan, which the Dwemer had found. Dagoth Ur discovered this and told Nerevar. When Nerevar confronted Dumac about it, Dumac denied any wrongdoing, unaware of Kagrenac's experiments. This led to the dissolution of the First Council alliance and the start of the War of the First Council between the Dwemer and Chimer. During the climactic Battle of Red Mountain, Dumac led his Dwemer armies against Nerevar's forces. In one account, Nerevar killed Dumac personally with an enchanted knife. In another, they joined forces against another Nord invader before Dumac was slain. After Dumac's death, the Dwemer were defeated and mysteriously disappeared shortly after, never to be seen again. Dumac was the last king of the Dwemer people in Resdayn before their disappearance and played a major role in the alliances and conflicts between Dwemer and Chimer in the late First Era.
