There is at least one rule in place; No real world religion and politics on this website. This includes characters and forum topics, etc.

Now, where should the line be drawn when it comes to religious and political characters making an appearance in fiction?
If they are completely fictional, I think we can all agree that they can be added. What about characters that also exist in the real world?

This is an open discussion, but please keep it nice and respectful.

Many people turn to comics as an escapism from real life religion and politics. Its absolutely ok if you are religious and political however not here. Just like how talks about fictional characters wouldn't make sense in a political discussion.
Comic politics however if different and great. Things like pro/anti registration or is the Joker really insane are excellent political discussions because its about fiction.

Those who cannot, should be any real life person, religious or political figure. the "meme" characters too, they are being overused and the battles lost all the sense. Also characters who are absolutely featless or have only appeared little time.

Thor. This isn't really in question.
Little Krishna. This seems different, but it's really not. The only difference is a lot more people believe in Krishna
Jesus (616) And the same argument here
Comic versions of real life people can be added, like Eminem (616)
But what about Obama (616)? Or any president? Or if we take a darker turn, Hitler (616)?

I don't see the point in having Eminem, Obama, etc. in here. Before you know it, this becomes a 'Battle anyone' website. Who's next, the Queen of England, Ronaldo, Oprah...? They might not offend people, but also don't have much use.

Well then maybe any fictional version of a real person or religious figure should be requested separately, and an argument would need to be made on why they should be added to the site. If someone can make a convincing argument that there's a good reason to have the character, they can be added. Just a suggestion.

Real world version shouldn't be added anyway, with some exceptions that might be fun in a battle, like; Wrestlers, Boxers, etc.

That's a misconception. This website is to find information on characters, teams, objects, etc. The Battles are an extra feature. It just happens to be a very popular one.

If that's the case, than any fictional character (even if it's modeled off of something else) can be added?
Is there any line drawn after that? Most US presidents are canon, and so are many political figures (like say, Hitler). Should those be added?

@Savage The rule is; no real world religion and political related characters.
I don't see why Jesus (the Marvel version) wouldn't be added, since it's the Marvel version of Jesus, not the 'real' Jesus.

That being said; I wouldn't mind keeping him out (and other religious/political characters that ALSO exist in the real world), just to prevent situations like this.

But where does that end? Do we delete all Lucifer characters too? And Thor?
Why would some get a special treatment over others? Should we respect one religion more than others and thus delete their God(s)?

I'm open for discussion about this and even open for deleting certain characters, but not if it's done this way. Then you loose all your credit and I'll ignore your requests.

I would be opposed to the idea o adding Marvel Jesus and other religious people even if they are from the fictional world of comics. People will still base this on the real life version and this is where things can get murky

I'm not gonna lie, I agree with cosmickingthor (his general idea not his manner of expressing himself)
If characters like Jesus (who's canon in 616) can't be added to the site, why can other gods? I'm confused on what characters can and can't be added to the site. What about real people who have comic book version? Yahweh can, but jesus can't. Eminem can, but Obama can't. What are the rules?
