Parademon

Parademon's History

Parademons are the soldiers/scouts of Apokolips, softening up hardened targets for the coming of greater forces or outright subjugating planets by themselves.

At the end of World War 2, a single Parademon appeared and attacked the Justice Society. Although the JSA ultimately emerged victorious, all but Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Hawkgirl (Shiera Sanders), and the Flash (Jay Garrick) had been killed in the attack. This spurred the JSA and the world into funneling its resources into the development of mechanized suits meant to aid powered heroes for the coming of Apokolips.

Decades later, three more Parademons would appear on Earth and confront two of its protectors, The Flash and Batman. The trio of Parademons started to gain an edge when the Kryptonian Kal-El and his mech made a sneak attack from orbit and killed one of them. The other two were dispatched quickly thereafter.

For the rest of the war with Earth, Parademons would form the vast majority of Darkseid's forces. Although they were still deadly and effective against the majority of Earth's forces, they were quickly outstripped by the power of the newly formed Justice Squadron. What happened to the remaining Parademons after the apparent death of Darkseid is unknown.
