I think this year the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress lineups could have been so much better. The Best Actor and Best Actress lineups were great, but I may have made slight changes to them.
I don't know about that. Tobey is a decent actor and Andrew is an amazing actor, but both have better performances than Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield has The Social Network, Silence, Hacksaw Ridge, Tick Tick Boom, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. I haven't seen Breathe, 99 Homes, and a few other performances of his that are considered great. Tobey Maguire usually has a performance similar to Spider-Man, such as The Great Gatsby and The Cider House Rules, but he was great in the movie Brothers
Yeah I am gonna have to agree with @DeanDinosaur6 here, it just won't happen. 1) I agree that they have better performances. 2) Oscars academy will do anything to not show most marvel movies love as far as direction and acting go. They just will not give them winners. As much as I love these movies it just won't happen.
They both already got their own movies. Tobey's Spider-Man (2) is (arguably) the best Superhero movie of all time. If there was a Superhero Oscar, he would have got it!
Pattinson should've gotten nominations years ago in The Lighthouse instead of Jonathan Price and Good Time instead of Denzel Washington. Other potential ones would be High Life and The Devil All The Time. He could be nominated for The Batman, but competition might be too strong this year
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if one day down the line we see Pattinson up for best actor for Batman and Koeghan up for best supporting for Joker. Not one bit.
Which was just ridiculous like the academy cannot be anymore obvious that they are basically against Marvel movies lol, everyone knows what the most hype movie of the year actually was

Completely agree. I'm shocked he has won since The Lion King won Best Original Score. He definitely deserved wins for Inception, Interstellar, and Dunkirk over the movies that actually won. Those being The Social Network over Inception, The Grand Budapest Hotel over Interstellar, and The Shape of Water over Dunkirk. His loss for Gladiator is more understandable because it was up against Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Was literally so happy to see this. I even said after I saw the movie that she deserved Recognition for that role because that is the best Anita I have ever seen on stage and on screen. Something about her performance was just so gripping and tantalizing. Loved to see it.
