If we separate this into categories I’ll come up with an average here.
Gameplay 10/10: I gave the gameplay from 2018 a 9/10 and I think they absolutely improved everything in the best way they could. More enemy types and draupnir was a welcomed addition that I thought was an excellent gameplay mechanic to be added. Tons of fun with all the bosses, even when I was killed over and over. It was hard to put down until I completed all of Beyond Ragnarok
Story 8/10: there was some story elements that I wasn’t always finding the most interesting. The plot twist was absolutely shocking and some of the themes and messages came across really well. I just wish the actual last battle was more exciting and thrilling. The scene leading up to that battle was almost more exciting.
Score 10/10: some of the best motifs I’ve ever heard. Love the main theme and the moments right before Gjallarhorn is blown. Fantastic Bear.
Acting 9/10: easily some of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Whether it was Freya, Heimdall, Freyr, Atreus, Tyr, Brok, Sindri, Thor, Kratos, etc. they were all so distinct and everyone had an interesting arc or depth to their character.
Settings 10/10: each place felt so distinct and that’s what I wanted.
So my final score was a 9.4/10
agree the second thor fight didnt feel satisfying i think it would have been cool if thor would break the leviathan axe and then kratos in a rage grabs mjolnir and breaks it on thors head and instead of thor not wanting to fight bc of thrudd he would be scared and odin kills him later in free roam u need to roam the nine realms to find pieces of mjolnir and the axe to create a duo of the two. Also the odin boss fight was just goofy
