The Monument Mythos is a Youtube Web Series envisioned and created by Alex Casanas which combined Alternate History and political satire with Analog Horror. Through the form of Mockumentary and Found Footage-style videos, The Monument Mythos tells the story of an alternate America where history took on a strangely different yet eerily familiar course, one where beloved actor James Dean never died but instead became President, the Vietnam War ended prematurely, all Personal Computers were outlawed and destroyed, and unknown horrors lurk beneath the surface of National Monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore. As of May 2022, Alex Casanas has begun a new Monument Mythos Sequel Series titled The Nixonverse, which has been described as "Analogue Superhorror" and has its own style and tone. Associated with The Monument Mythos and its setting are also a few other projects also created by Alex, namely CORNERFOLKLORE and The House in the Ocean, the later of which was originally deleted before being reuploaded months later as part of The Nixonverse.
