Megapede

Godzilla: The Series

Megapede's powers and abilities

Metamorphosis - The Megapade has two forms it switches between in the episode, a centipede form and a cicada form.

Centipede - The centipede form demonstrates the following abilities:

  • Burrowing - While in this form, the Megapede was able to burrow from the far side of Illinois to Indianapolis in under two hours, a distance of at least 300 miles meaning it can burrow at speeds of at least 150 mph. This assumes a pure straight line with no deviations, which would increase the speed.

  • Acidic Spit - The Megapede can spit its stomach acids over a fairly large distance, creating corrosive and slippery patches. While not fatal, this substance can deal substantial damage to the eyes and other weak points, but dissolves in water.

  • Tough Hide - The Megapede's hide was completely immune to anything the H.E.A.T. team threw at it including laser and rifle fire and a tanker truck explosion.

  • Barbs - The Megapede can launch venomous barbs from its underside with enough velocity to pierce Godzilla's skin.

  • Webbing - The centipede form creates a webbing barrier around itself to protect it from invaders during the metamorphosis process.

Cicada - The cicada form demonstrates the following abilities:

  • Holdovers - The cicada form maintains all the abilities of the centipede form except the poison barbs. It further demonstrates the toughness of its hide by tanking numerous direct hits from Stinger missiles.

  • Flight - While in this form, the Megapede can fly.

  • Sonic Attack - By rapidly vibrating its wings, the Megapede can create a high pitched buzzing sound across a wide area that interferes with electronics and can cause disorientation and sonic damage to organic targets.

Megapede's weaknesses

Electricity - While in its centipede form, the Megapede showed a weakness to electricity. This is no longer true as the cicada form.

Insolating Foam - A thick coating of insolating foam can prevent the cicada form from utilizing its wings.
