Little Blue's History

Little Blue is a Sylvan Riverseed currently bonded with Wei Shi Lindon Arelius, who stole her from the Heaven's Glory School in Sacred Valley in Unsouled.

Sylvan Riverseeds are natural spirits, similar to Remnants, but born of accumulated vital aura instead of the death of a sacred artist. They only form in places where the aura is both extremely strong and in perfect balance. If the aura slanted toward one aspect or another, a different natural spirit would form. Typically, this balance of aura would be found in the heart of a forest, next to a spring or a river. In such a place, air and earth, heat and cold, life and death all coexist at the same point in roughly equal amounts.

Riverseeds are much more gentle and flexible than other Sylvans. They could work with power of virtually any aspect, supplementing and supporting other forces, making them excellent raw materials. Eithan reflects in Blackflame that they were so malleable that a skilled craftsman could make a Riverseed into a guardian, a weapon, a guide, an elixir, a power source, a drudge, or—in some cultures—a very expensive cocktail.

Her main use through most of the series was the purification and healing of damaged madra channels, especially helpful due to how demanding Lindon's Path of the Black Flame is in that aspect. Little Blue was fed pure madra scales, Forged energy, from Lindon throughout the series, making her grow stronger and more defined over the course of the series. This also gave her the appearance of a female human, since the bottom of her original shape reminded Lindon of the bottom of a dress.

In Wintersteel, Lindon and Little Blue became contracted partners, bonded on a spiritual level, for Lindon to perfect his Consume technique. This sped up both of their growths in power significantly.

In Waybound, Little Blue trained alongside others of the group as equals, eventually becoming a Herald and creating a truly physical form. She stayed with Lindon throughout the rest of the book and ascended past Cradle alongside him.
