Kumamon

Kumamon's History

Kumamon is Tommy's Human Hybrid form which he undertakes when he spirit evolves using the H Spirit of Ice. Kumamon's powers lie in his ability to either freeze things or turn himself into malleable ice, and he wields the "Romeo" launcher.

Tommy first attains the power to spirit evolve to Kumamon when he resolves to fight the Candlemon attacking the Legendary Warriors in return for how Takuya Kanbara protected him. The H Spirit of Ice acknowledges him and goes into his D-Tector, giving him control over ice. With this strength, he helps Agunimon beat the Candlemon and Wizardmon.

Kumamon becomes Tommy's battle form to face all on-comers. He briefly loses the power to become Kumamon when Gigasmon steals his H Spirit of Ice, but regains it with BurningGreymon's help. When Tommy obtains the B Spirit of Ice and the ability to spirit evolve into Korikakumon, he has the choice between either Kumamon's speed and maneuverability or Korikakumon's raw power. Tommy loses the power to spirit evolve to Kumamon whenever he gives his Spirits to Takuya for either Unified Spirit Evolution to EmperorGreymon or Ancient Spirit Evolution to Susanoomon.

At the end of their journey, Tommy finds that AncientMegatheriummon has been with him during his entire journey. When the humans leave the Digital World, AncientMegatheriummon assumes Kumamon's form, with the ancient being as much changed by Tommy as he was by being Kumamon.
