The ton class system debunked

The ton class system in marvel doesn't seem accurate, for example Ares has matched Hercules for second in strength yet is only 70 ton class?

I think--regardless of what feats they have--you have to go with whatever is listed at the comic book company. They can allow a character to do anything they feel like people will overlook and fanboys overlook a lot! If there's nothing listed at a comic company, then you go with feats. If someone is listed at 10 Tons formerly, but now is listed at 20 Tons: that's what you go with. You have to ignore the Bugs Bunny attribute that characters can be given. A character--that is listed at 20 Tons and holds up a building--should have that feat ignored by the public, because it's toon/plot manipulation with the character being given that ability. With classic cartoons, this is mostly implied. However, superhero comics have an ethics code that is based on routine or update to the character--unless their superpower is toon/plot manipulation. Unless that's what they do, you have to go with what's been stated and you'll find that this is the normal range of the character.

The tier of some Marvel characters is very high.

For exemple, it is proved on comics that Infinity Gauntlet only works in a universe, then Thanos (Infinity Gauntlet) should have tier 6 instead of tier 9. It can't do nothing to other universes.
