Edmund's History

Edmund II was the prince of England and inherited the English throne. As the eldest surviving son of King Æthelred, Prince Edmund inherited not only the English throne, but a great deal of chaos in the form of Viking attacks.

Edmund is wracked with self-doubt about his ability to be king. He believes that he was never supposed to be king, but then his brothers died. Edmund is young, inexperienced, and ill-prepared to lead England. But he is determined to do his best regardless. He is arrogant and misguided. Upon becoming king, Edmund is cocky and sure of his success, despite his lack of experience.

After being defeated and captured by Canute's Viking forces, he is forced by Canute to serve as a mediator between King Canute and the aldermen of England but is later murdered by Godwin under orders by Canute's father, Sweyn Forkbeard.
