At least on this site. What sparked this was me looking at the various Pokemon. Like the Primal forms being at multiversal levels of power. Mhmm. Sure.

I could see Mewtwo in 3, but Mew is inferior (powerwise) in every way. High 2 maybe.

I can see them falling into that tier as well. It's murky. And the pokedex is so ridiculous and unreliable its worthless.

I would say the same for Thor, but I don't wanna start a fight. More intending for this to be ones that are amusingly overstated and not contentious.

@vonKonigsberg While Thor is in the lead, his position of #1 is highly contested by Hulk, Sentry, Silver Surfer and a few others. And if we're basing it on popularity then Spider-Man knocks Thor out of the park.

Yeah, no challenge for popularity with good ol' Spider-Man. I am also going to admit I have not read a Marvel comic since 2015 outside of a few volumes of Immortal Hulk.

And this was born out of a frustration I have seeing some characters (and sometimes universes) that are clearly getting put at ridiculous numbers. Like when the Peter Jackson King Kong was a tier 3.

It depends on the hype on them at the time too.
I'm surprised people are downvoting the comment though. Its no question Superman is the face of DC. That's not a bad thing but his fans overstate him

It really depends on who's writing him. Sometimes he's punching out 6th dimensional beings, sometimes he's having trouble pushing planets. Him in the 200k range seems fair to me, but I don't want to get in on that debate, as my expertise lies in the Kaiju and Seinen manga departments.

That's why I'd find Superman to be quite hard to write about. Writers can fluctuate how strong he is and that's considered normal. And typically he'll be just about stronger than the enemy at the time, whether be it Darkseid or mech suit Luther. It kind of makes him boring

It can be frustrating, for sure, but as someone that has been enjoying Superman's adventures since I was a child, I don't really find it to be an issue.
