Omni Man attacks the Thing at full speed, hurling it through a building, which collapses. After a while, however, here comes the voice of the Thing: 'My Aunt Petunia knows how to weed out viltrumite weeds!". And he return a punch to Omni Man, which is thrown quite far.
"Uhmmm..." grunts Omni Man, getting up.
"I underestimated him."
The two face each other again in a square. The fight is quite close: the Thing's durability and strength give him an advantage over Omni Man, but this is offset by Omni Man's speed. The fight seems to go nowhere: both begin to doubt their chances of winning. But it is Omni Man who takes the initiative first. Realising that his flight and speed give him an advantage, he throws an extremely powerful punch at Thing, hurling it into the air.
"Oh, for God's sake!" shouts Ben.
Omni Man starts punching him repeatedly in the air, while the helpless Thing fails to react. A final right hook from Omni Man sends the Thing into New York Bay, where Grimm begins to gasp. Omni Man gives him no time to think, however: he knows that speed is on his side, and he takes advantage of it. He sends the Thing to the bottom, with a well-aimed blow to the stomach: all the air in Ben's lungs is suddenly emptied.
"I need oxygen!" thinks Ben, as Nolan tries to keep him crushed to the bottom.
A well-placed kick from the Thing, however, sends Grayson out of the water, bouncing him off the pier.The Thing finally has a chance to emerge: it takes a big breath of air, and hoists itself onto dry land, where it can barely stand. He is tired. But when he finally looks up in search of her enemy, a lightning movement catches his attention. It's Omni Man again, furiously crushing Ben into the ground. The only thing that keeps the Thing conscious (yeah, I love repetitions XD) is his incredible willpower. Now exhausted, he still shakes his fists in the air.
"Your S looks like an O, you know right?"
"What? It's an O. I'm Omni-Man. What would the S stands for, anyway?"
"Oh, never mind" replies him.
The Thing finally collapses to the ground.
"This planet, now and forever, belongs to the Viltrumite empire!" shouts Omni Man to the sky.

HL is not as fast when it comes to combat and reaction speed, His abilities aren't that much and aren't as powerful, Cap could match him in strength, Durability wouldn't help HL against the shield because he's been harmed by less before.
