Character Edits About History, Superpowers, Power Ratings And Tier levels.

Suggestions on character edits based on facts and truthful historical information!
"Character's power ratings shouldn't be based on opinions..." - We all know this, and that's how everyone should enter the info. That's also why not everyone can just go and edit everything. There is a limited amount of editors.
The uStats are more for personal interpretations. If enough uStats are entered, you should get a reasonable average.
If it wasn't for your boy's ego, I would of edited over 12 characters by now, done just the way I did the first 3 and published, I even had the fourth character edited and ready to go but like I said, your boy's ego got flustered and he made sure to let me and everyone else who would read the conversation that he had the power, he was the Omnipotent one on here, which is probably why your 15 to 23 yrs old editors aren't editing, but...
...alright then, sorry that I tagged you, thought you might find this interesting since no editing is being done and on top of that, when there is some editing being done it's done so the tier levels are being manipulated to please the users and to compromise instead of entering the right information and heck they don't even enter anything in the histories of the characters because they don't know it! Hence why these kids don't know their characters and if they go on another website forum and debate a character and the other debaters says "you got it all wrong, where did you get that untrue information and this website's user says "SHDbI", he'll look like a fool and this website will not be recognized as it should be, which should be a true and accurate "material source" website thanks to your formatting. I just think if the characters would be better represented with the accurate information and history filled explaining their powers, than this website has awesome potential to be a credible true "material source" website.
But it's your website and not mine and as the saying goes, "This is your world and I'm just a squirrel living in it, trying to save my nuts".
I don't understand what you mean by "shortcuts"?
I said I was sorry I tagged you, now that I had time to gather my thoughts, I am not sorry. I am a member and a supporter of this website and I have an issue with your Herald, which is the highest ranked on here under you and he obviously runs the show. So, since I can't reason with him, the only way I can make my issues known is to contact the administrator, which is you. Hence why you were tagged.
Your first comment said that what I described as how a character should be edited, was how it should be done, but your Herald says differently. Here's what he had to say about character edits...

It's not my problem that you are so eminent that you can not request characters like other users in request list.
And yes, I consider ALL user opinion in adding powers because this is exactly what Galactus want and he says this a user based website and not like DC or Marvel Fandom so I do not think your wish for the fall of this site will come true.
FYI, I have never taken back the role of editor from anyone.
P.S. I wonder why none of you omniscient users try to take a role on Fandom/wiki sites. Maybe it's because it's full of people like you who don't even let you start talking.
@Everyone I'm very sorry to have to discuss like this here but he asked for it.
@Everyone I'm not sorry, he can post everything he wants, this should make for an interesting reading!! (enjoy it while it's hot and right off the press!!)
Awaiting impatiently for Ezio's copy paste of all my comments, expecting tons of fireballs to boost!! Go Ezio!!
Heck go read our full conversation in his messages, trust me you'll love it...or hate it?
Enjoy all that Ezio will copy/paste on here, I know I will.
Goodnight,
If you have a 100% working, fool-proof way of doing it, without peoples opinions or interpretations involved, please let me know. Besides that, comics aren't always consistent themselves, making it even harder to get the 'correct' info.

“If it wasn't for your boy's ego…”
This isn’t helping.
“I would of edited over..” … *have… ‘would have’…
I’ve you’re going to insult people, do it in proper English.
“..which is probably why your 15 to 23 yrs old editors aren't editing,..”
On average there are 50 edits a day.
[annoyed mode off]
As I would like every edit to include history, powers, etc. It’s not something I want to demand. In the earlier days of this website I edited everything myself. I did over 300 characters or so, with history, power info, etc. It’s a tedious job. Making it mandatory will probably result in just copy pasting other websites.
Your Character 1, 2 and 3 also don’t have History and/or Power info. [still a bit in annoyed mode]
“Would you be open to selling your website?”
Everything is for sale, so maybe. It depend on what kind of price you have in mind.
This is where I’m going to leave it. I don’t have the energy/time to go into every detail.
For now, you can request characters you want to edit like everyone else. Having seen your conversation with Ezio, I’m not sure if you want to do it this way.
As for character 1, 2 and 3, they were empty when you looked at them because I have deleted all the information on them so that you could delete them. Characters 2, and 3 have been done and published for a while now...
Character 2: https://www.superherodb.com/atum-the-slayer-of-gods/10-13870/
Character 3: https://www.superherodb.com/demogorge-the-god-eater/10-22789/
As for character one, I deleted all the info but saved it in case that it was possible to find a way to resolve this situation. If when I asked for a slot to add him, it would of been done right after characters 2 and 3. But all of a sudden, it was a big deal to do so.
Also, I edited character 4 which was already on your roster, the one character you assigned me yourself.
Character 4 : https://www.superherodb.com/gaea/10-327/
As for character one, it would take me about 10 mins to create it and publish but when I asked your "Herald" to publish the third character which was character 1, all of a sudden I had to go through the "ask for edit request" even though he had assigned me characters 2 and 3 and that was just because we had an argument the day before where his ego got bruised
So, about edit request, am I getting this right? You're telling that even if I were to ask for a "edit request" it would be denied because of my public incidents with your "Herald"? (annoyed mode on)
What happened between him and me was definitely not our mutual greatest moments I'm sure, but I was not going to let myself being bullied and scolded by someone just because they disagreed with me and who finally admitted to me that characters tier levels were manipulated to please users opinions (which he kept denying at first) instead of the right factual information!
For the record, after our first incident, I tried to extend an olive branch to your "Herald" the following day and all I got in return was sarcasm and a show of power. You personally asked me to create 3 characters that I was considering to edit for you, Ezio and MoNsTeR, to be judged on for the editor position you offered me, if you liked my work on those 3 characters, which I did and after 3-4 days, not a word from anyone. I sent multiple messages in the same thread for 3 days and still nothing. Till one day I contacted your Herald and he answered back, not by demeaning my work, but rather demeaning me as he added me to his general basket of a certain type of people as he so explicitly described. I'm a 63 yrs old man and it's going to be a cold day in hell before I let myself being told off, scolded and judged by a 31yr old man and on top off that, done so in public for all to read, saying he's seen my type before and wasn't interested in making me an editor which was worst because it came from him and not you, you who was the person who used the word "editor" first while asking me to edit 3 characters from scratch and just today you have finally looked at them for the first time, where they were now empty. Your Herald didn't make me an editor not because my work was bad but rather because he didn't like my type. Now you're older than him, tell me, would you of said nothing after this, wouldn't you feel insulted after doing great work, only to be told thanks but no thanks because I don't like you? (annoyed mode off)
As for my my question about if you would ever consider selling your website, as for price, send me a private message when you're in a complete (annoyed mood off) and we'll talk then.
P.S. I gave you the links to the characters I edited, at least look at them for yourself, then message me. I'll be in a better mood myself by then.
Character's power ratings shouldn't be based on opinions, from users, members, editors, moderators and heralds. I was told that many characters were given their ratings in order to compromise and to appease everyone's personal opinions on characters. This website has great potential to become a real "material source" website. Which means that power ratings and tier levels should not be based on personal opinions in order to appease all sides and find a compromise to please everyone.
Superpowers, power ratings and tier levels should be based on facts, facts that were researched, double checked and corroborated with facts, facts that can be easily explained in the character's history. This way, if someone has a different opinion about said character(s) superpowers, tier level and power ratings, you can ask them why? Why and what are they basing their opinions on, is their opinion a personal opinion or do they have facts to back it up? Because if you've done your research on the character you've edited, then you know that you're solid because you've edited the character(s) based on proven and easily found facts.
To give the proper power ratings and tier levels on character(s), you have to do the proper research. Let's say that you're editing a Marvel character, 1st you go to the official material source website which in this case would be Marvel. Find your character (they don't have all marvel characters on there yet), then go to their "in comic profile", read the biography and their power ratings of your character but be careful, since the MCU started they've nerfed and overpowered some characters, but you have a starting point and this is why you need more than just that website to find all you need. Now that you know more about the character you want to edit, then now you go to other more detailed driven accredited/licensed by Marvel websites and read what they say on your character and check the character's history and powers given on those websites.
Now, armed with the basics and some even more detailed information, now you go to websites that are credible and have integrity and are very detailed on their characters (because they used corroborated facts to explain their information given on their characters). Which now you need to do as well, you've got all this information on your character but you can't get lazy now. With all the information you have by now, you have enough to narrow things down in order to easily find the right comic book issues to read in order to corroborate everything about your character(s). Once you've read the right comic books, then all you do is take snippets of relevant information. All the websites you've looked at, pretty much say the same but in their words or they've all copied and pasted off of each other because the factual information is the same for all of them.
The best MATERIAL SOURCE you can get is, by reading the relevant COMIC BOOKS!!
Now you've got everything you need and you know your character inside out, so much so that you could debate anyone about anything on that specific character.
Next thing to do is simply to copy paste all relevant specific information and string it all together in your own words without changing any facts. Don't copy and paste a full page off of just one website because, that's just too much and it ends up having too many pages and all you need really is facts explaining your character's superpowers, power ratings and tier level with historical facts because you have to put some level of biography and history in the "history page" of your character that you're editing.
And don't let anyone try to push their personal opinions of what the character's power ratings, tier level should be because they disagree with you, because they're not only disagreeing with you, they're disputing the facts that you researched, found and corroborated yourself. So, don't compromise your research in order to appease those who only have personal opinions on the character(s) and not facts, because that if they had facts, then you know 100% that their facts would automatically be the same as yours.
That's what makes for a great "material source" website and thus gains not only credibility but also integrity. And this website has that kind of potential!
Bottom line, don't edit a character based on what people's opinions are and just go "oh ok, then if that's what people think then I'll edit the character based on their personal opinions". Do your own research (it's actually quite fun and you learn so much in the process, trust me), and once you've done that for say your first real researched character and edit, you'll be so confident and easily able to debate your character with your eyes closed and your history on your character will explain everything truthfully and not to compromise to make others happy. And please, please don't rely on any source material from the MCU, they are so far off from the comic books true history, powers of their characters that it's not even funny. That's the last place you want to take source material from, is from the MCU.
Now I know I'm going to get some fire for saying all this, been there done that. Because in the end, it's not about the people I'm going take shots from, it's about the characters and their truth. And pretty much everyone who's going to take shots at me after this, are the same exact people that don't know their characters and only have personal opinions and usually their opinions are based on what the MCU told them. That's just for Marvel characters because that's what I based my example on and because I'm a Marvel purist and know more about Marvel than DC comics characters. But I know enough to have checked out many DC characters on here to know that the information of them and their power ratings and tier levels are also based on the principle to respect people's opinions on here and compromise to make everyone happy. You think that the big boys (very credible websites) and their source material on their characters was put down to please people or do you think they put down facts because that's who and what the characters are? That's how you become a great "source material website" , people come, check it out and see that the characters on here are very detailed driven and accurate. From there comes the word to mouth and people tell others that if you want to know about a certain character, go check out SHDb, they know their sh*t!!
This would bring SHBd to the next level as a true "Source Material Website"!
Are the 3 characters not up to your standards, would love a reply either way please?
One more thing: do not think that If you become an editor, I will allow you to edit Odin and Thor immediately.
When I first visited this website, I thought it showed good representation and joined it so I could use it in debates with kids who knew nothing about the characters.
You say that I claimed that said comments along the lines "THE ONLY ONES WHO KNEW", from what I've seen, yeah compared to many on here, you're right, I do know more! And the reasons are because this website does not give the right information and stay true to the "comic books" character, from who they are, what their powers and abilities are, they don't even know any history because most character have none, I edited Gaea, Atum, Demogorge and Demiurge with facts and not just hearsay or biased emotional opinions. At one point you have to choose between credibility, integrity or set the power ratings to fit against other characters better for battles.
The only thing I know and use are facts, not guesses, assumptions, speculations or what would be better for battles. I put down facts of the characters I've edited, I did my homework to confirm what I knew or didn't know. If someone is going to want to debate with me about a specific character, they better do their homework first because I did mine. And that includes you too! You don't want me as an Editor, then that's your choice but make sure you make it for the right reasons instead of fearing what I might do by putting facts down. Facts that you won't agree with even if they are undeniable just because they make other characters look inferior.
Also, when I joined this site I never wanted to get involved with such things as editing or creating OC's or do battles that don't make sense by putting lowballed characters against overpowered characters. You want "yes men" kids as editors that are easily kept in line by misinforming them about characters because updating those underpowered and/or overpowered characters would go against maybe your own "THE ONLY ONES WHO KNEW" mentality? You mentioned "Odin and Thor" characters right off the start because you very well know that those characters are wrong! But they are not the only ones, all I see are power ratings being manipulated and characters with no history validating their powers and abilities. The characters I was allowed to edit, came with historical facts of the character coming from credible sources and me taking the time to double check by going on a binge reading comic books to make sure all the information is corroborated.
And if you do make me an editor, don't expect me to be on a leash by you just because you have the power, you're not talking to a 22yr old kid here.
I wanted to edit certain characters that were characters that were from the beginning of time in order to build from the bottom up, starting with the oldest characters in order to explain the younger characters which some are their progenies. With a strong foundation of factual characters well explained and defined, can this website's users get to know their characters with the right information in their bio's and much more important, their history!
Now, do as you wish. Just make sure to keep them power ratings low, so to have better match up battles and in the process damn the facts, right?.
You want to use Thor against me because it's clear he's my fave, Ok so explain to me why this character is a tier level 6?
https://www.superherodb.com/thor/10-140/
When it's a known fact backed up by many arcs/stories that Thor as Prince Thor was born as a Multiversal being, like his grandfather, father and mother before him.
Is it because it made it easier to low ball him so he could match up better against Superman (which is my second fave btw) ? In all comic books old and new, Thor was born as per your own way of rating characters as a tier 8, even when he was in diapers. So by all means, please validate with facts of course as to why this character is a tier 6? I can't wait to read it, honestly???
BTW, when you post a comment on my comments or a character I edited and you disapprove, keep the sarcasm to yourself (that's just rude) and message me privately instead please and thank you.
Explain to me why this character is set as a tier 4 and not a tier 6?
https://www.superherodb.com/captain-marvel/10-12611/
Captain Marvel even in the MCU is absolutely Inter-Galactic/Universal, whomever edited this character doesn't even know this fact?
I would love to read the reasoning behind making her a tier level 4 instead of the rightful character's powers and ability to travel Inter-Galactic/Universal, did this character escape your watch? Did you add a sarcastic comment in the comment section? Or did you just miss it? Or worst, you agree with the tier 4?
2-I never tried to collect editors who completely agree with me, much less "to be on a leash by." On the contrary, I chose at least three editors by myself who disagreed with me and the other editors. Because I did not want the site to be biased and this way editors can critique each other's edits. But I'm not interested in giving a role to someone who thinks only he thinks right, because that person really needs a personal website to just write his thoughts on.
I always respect for who are older than me (If your Bio is Accurate) but I am 31 and that's old enough to have reasonable conversation with you and I have policy to lower use of private message. But you seem to have delayed responding to that comment, which you find sarcastic but I think is absolutely true, for a long time. I think I know the reason, but I keep it to myself because you wont like it.
2- Why dont you write your sarcastic comment in private message?
P.S. English is not my native language. whatever
Alas yes, my Bio is accurate and our age difference should in no way affect our exchanges. Though I might of sounded disrespectful, nothing is further from the truth. I've also read your bio and comments and accolades from your peers on here. And in everything I wrote, I never meant any disrespect, I was just fired up about your comments saying I was in the group of those who you said "THE ONLY ONES WHO KNEW" and that definitely fired me up as you don't know me.
Do I believe that I have an extensive wealth of Knowledge when it comes down to Marvel characters, yes absolutely. And this knowledge helps me find the accurate facts of any given character I am either debating about or putting it down pen to paper. By memory I have an idea of the storylines and this helps me to ask the right questions, which in turn helps me find the facts and corroborate them. As for the sarcasm issue, I think we're both guilty, you were on the other profile and I was on here. And I should of known better because two wrongs don't make a right. But if there's still something on your mind , even if you think I won't like it, then you should speak freely either in public or in private, either doesn't bother me.
With that said, I appreciated the fact that you assigned me those characters and if you consider me as an Editor, it should be on the body of work I did on those characters and all the time it entailed. And not on what you perceive me to be or this conversation where we both said our hard peace. As for the multiple Thor characters, that's something for another time because actually, the characters I was going to ask to edit, are the remaining Elder Gods and the Atum-Ra character which btw, explaining that character that is a 3 into 1 character wasn't easy. I had tons of reading to do and lot's to corroborate.
Here's where we are different, I didn't lose respect for you in this exchange, on the contrary, I rather debate/exchange with someone who stands their ground and able to say their peace with resolve. I actually have more respect for you now that I had after reading your first initial message.
This website as such potential, but the character's accurate information should be primordial so that the younger generations coming to this website for information on a specific character can actually find it. And when they do, they know to which website to go to for accurate information on any given characters. Like editors should have a rule, if you're going to edit a character and put down a tier level, let the character's history back it up. Your editors should learn about the character before simply and blindly editing them with no background to validate the powers and abilities (especially the tier levels).
As for English, I would of never known.
With respect,
Me!
