Can we talk about "classic" character profiles

Created by Savage, 2 y 2 mo 9 d ago.

Do we need them? Some make sense, others don't. I suggest classic hulk, juggernaut, amd dormammu be deleted at the very least.

There is a website that I visit now and then which splits some of the major characters into two or three versions. Example: one is particular is listed in a 60's-70's version , one for the 80's-90's and then one for 2000 to present. When a character does have major changes, then I think we should have different versions to vote upon.

I agree with @Savage here, only one good classic profile I can think of is classic Drax since he is completely different from the modern version and has way different powers, so makes sense for him to have a different version in the form of classic. Others like classic juggernaut, hulk and others are just because... they are stronger than their modern versions. Either give other heroes classic versions of them or delete the existing ones.

Agreed. Classic profiles just take away feats from characters.
If all of thor's classic feats count, and all of hulk's don't, why would hulk stand a chance? Classic Doctor Strange is a really popular profile, but honestly the "modern" one could be deleted.

And to be honest the only reason why modern and classic separate profiles were created was because the classic versions tend to be more powerful. However comics back in the day were quite extreme anyway. In both Marvel and DC extreme feats like smashing universes and time itself doesn't really happen anymore.

@Tyrannus and @Savage I agree, but then its not fair to have classic versions for some characters and not have for others. As @Savage said, one with the classic profile gets stripped off all the good feats and when you bring those feats in an argument against someone who doesn't have a classic profile, people just say that there is a different classic version for that character. That is unfair, the only classic profiles which make sense are Drax, Strange and maybe Dormammu but the rest are kinda not needed.

Personally, I think even profiles like Sentry (Stable) should be deleted. All profiles like that are more powerful versions of characters, but don't actually need to be amped by anything else to get there. Having profiles like Stable Sentry just takes away feats from the Sentry. Anytime I provide good Sentry feats people can always go "well that was just when he was stable, which is another profile". There's no line between stable and unstable though, yet their stats are wildly different. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think even characters like World Breaker Hulk don't need separate profiles. Normal Hulk should be able to eventually turn into wbh in a fight, but he can't on this site because of a separate profile. Hulk is a good example, because there's so many Hulk profiles that just take away scans from the main Hulk.
