I know many will disagree, but I find Lee&Kirby pretty overrated. They created many characters we love, but I don't think the stories they wrote can be considered as some of the best. I prefer Donny Cates, Johnathan Hickman, Matt Fraction and JMS over the rest. Especially Donny Cates is really creative.

I thought Kirby had an excellent plan going for the New Gods and the prophecy on Darkseid and Orion. It could have been awesome had he been allowed to finish it. Grant Morrison did a decent job though.
