Super Mario's powers and abilities

Superhuman Leaping and Jumping

Mario's most notable ability is his jump, which is the basic move he relies on to defeat enemies, avoid obstacles, and activate helpful items, such as ? Blocks and P Switches. Mario's strength extends to his legs, allowing him to leap two stories high. Although Luigi has superior jumping, Mario is more well-known. He's also capable of several acrobatic maneuvers, including the Long Jump, backflip, Spin Jump, and Wall Jump, with the Wall Jump being one of his most recurring abilities

Superhuman Strength

Mario has been shown to possess superhuman strength, being able to lift and press objects that are several times his weight. Ever since the first Super Mario Bros. game, Mario is capable of smashing through brick blocks with his bare fists. The exact upper limits of his strength are unknown, but in Super Mario World, he is seen lifting a fortress out of the ground and then kicking it away. In Super Mario 64, he can carry and throw King Bob-omb, although with some difficulty. During the battles with Bowser, Mario can grab him by the tail, spin him, and throw him. His strength is also shown in Super Mario Galaxy, where he can easily stun a Mega Goomba with a Star Spin despite its great size and can knock Bowser around during battles with him. In Bowser's Inside Story, although he is visibly straining, he is able to lift and throw a swelled Luigi when using the Snack Basket move. In the spinoffs, Mario, although usually balanced, boasts generally slightly higher-than-average power.

Superhuman Durability

Mario is shown to endure great impacts, such as falling from a height of several stories or being struck by an opponent with superhuman strength. He's constantly survived getting hit to different continents and planets with no serious injuries. Mario can also endure extreme environments, such as volcanoes and tundras and withstand fire, electricity, and ice.

Superhuman Stamina

Mario can maintain continuous physical activity for an indefinite time, allowing him to perform various maneuvers and travel to multiple regions without any signs of exhaustion. In some of his games, Mario is shown to breathe underwater and even survive the vacuum of space.

Superhuman Speed

Mario is capable of running up walls in Super Mario World and is capable of outpacing sound in Super Paper Mario. Koopa the Quick has referred to Mario as a "human blur". He can outrun the lasers from Ring Burners and Sentry Beams and guard against special lightning bolt attacks just before they hit to not receive as much damage. Mario's reaction speed is superb, as he is fast enough to execute the Bye-Bye Cannon attack against enemies while getting shot across the world in around just 5 seconds and perceive tennis balls in slow motion.

Superhuman Reflexes and Agility

Mario has shown himself time and time again to be very agile and nimble. This has allowed him to survive many dangerous situations that would kill a normal human.

Enhanced/Master Combatant

Mario has his own fighting style as shown in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Throughout the game, he even became the new Sensei of Jinx's dojo. Mario's style of martial arts is mostly jumping but other than that, he uses punches, kicks, leg sweeps, grabs, and throws.

Indomitable Will

Mario is shown to have a powerful force of will, completely free of evil or temptation.

Weapon Proficiency

Despite not usually using guns, Mario has shown that he is very skilled with weapons. In Yoshi's Safari, Mario has shown he is competent and skilled with guns.

Expert Vehicular Driver

As shown in the Mario Kart series, Mario is skilled in driving vehicles, such as karts and motorbikes. As shown on Mario and Sonic at the Olympics series, Mario is good in all-around type.

Dimension Flipping

In Super Paper Mario, Mario can flip 3D after Bestovius grants the ability, but he will slowly lose a life if he stays 3D too long.

Pyrokinesis

Mario can create and manipulate fire. This ability changes throughout the games he has appeared. In the platform games, such as Super Mario Bros., Mario needs a Fire Flower to obtain this power. But in the RPGs and Super Smash Bros. series, Mario already has this power. Also, in the Super Smash Bros. series, Mario uses the Mario Finale, in which he unleashes a powerful blast of fire. In spinoffs, Mario is always associated with the element of fire.

Leadership

Mario has proven to be a capable leader, inspiring others with his charisma, ardor, and idealism.

Olympic Competitor

As shown on Mario and Sonic at the Olympics series, Mario is good at all-around type.
