Planet Arakko

Planet Arrako (formerly known as Mars) is the fourth planet in the Sol System. It is named after the mutant island Arakko, and its inhabitants are called “Arakkii”. As “Mars”, it had been named after the Olympian war god Ares, under his Roman name. Denizens of Mars were called Martians. During the Hellfire Gala, Magneto proposed that mutantkind terraform Mars. He decided to have Arakko moved to the newly-revitalized Mars so that the mutants of Arakko could live without conflict with nearby humans. Through the use of the External Gate, the island of Arakko was transferred from Earth to Mars.
