It's kinda complicated. The actual Marvel versus DC comic series (Not the separate ones like Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man) was canon to both Marvel and DC, however, the spinoff comic series such as Darkseid vs Galactus and Batman vs The Hulk was only canon to DC and did not feature the 616 Marvel characters.
