I got into it a few months ago and I'm hooked!
SO your first mistake would be your last one.
* not even close to the final design.
One thing I need to figure out is how to show the team members and how many members a team can have on a Battle Royale,.. SUPER Battle Royale that is.
A regular team on a battle is 16 members, but the way I'm thinking of showing the members won't fit 16.
If I keep it the way it was, member wise, you can create Battles with 512 characters... Is that something you would want to do?
Tech-On Red Skull uses his fragments of the infinity stones to wipe all powers from the planet and I mean all. We get confirmed in panels that the main cast, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Scarlet Witch were rendered powerless so we know it affects both genetic and magical based powers. So, I guess this leads to my question... what tier should he be then?
If anyone has ideas, let me know.
I know that superhero database is a debating website. I thought the down-vote system was a good thing to have for this site but since it's annoying so many users on here. All it was doing is creating a little spark of toxicity. So I'm glad it's out.
Other users also got annoyed by it too, Holyjoe wanted @Blotskya to remove a down-vote here. https://www.superherodb.com/captain-america-infinity-gauntlet-vs-captain-atom/90-409871/
Look @Ezio just like I said I want to protect this website from becoming that way. So I'm glad it's out. If you disagree with me that's fine but I think taking it out was the better option.
Using up-/downvote for poll is another thing. That was actually useful. But that should be handled by an actual poll option. I already started on a poll feature a while back. I'll give it higher priority.
I completely agree with @Ezio. This site is about debating and sharing your opinions whether they be liked or not. I also didn't mind if I got downvoted because then it let me know if people have read my comment or even agreed with it.
@Jakcj The fact that you disagreed with some of the negativity is even more of an argument for why we needed the downvote system. I spoke to @Mr_Incognito about how DC fans tend to be outnumbered but that was made possible because of the downvote.
@Galactus If anything this will just encourage people replying "no" to comments they disagree with which is more annoying than just seeing a downvote. Many of us would just use the up/downvote system as a way to acknowledge a comment rather than replying each time because its quicker.
For Youtube it was incredibly handy to see if the video is worth watching by checking the downvotes. Downvotes on comments don't have that same value in my opinion. Especially not if we want more debates.
I'm still so happy about the 14th champions league trophy that nothing can upset me.
It's already working.
@Mr_Incognito Good idea.
@Tyrannus Agreed.
@Galactus Also agreed. What if we let people downvote only if they comment, similar to being able to post a review only on items you buy?
@Jackj Reddit is bad that way, they don't show how many individual votes to got, only the difference.
@Ezio Agreed.
@Jackcj The whole reason why the downvote system was removed was to promote debate and yet you want to quickly close the case just because you got what you want. You just proved why we need the downvote system. And why should we all have to go somewhere else when we're in the majority here. With respect mate, if you didn't like the downvote system you could have left SHBD.
I can't speak for the majority but from what I've seen, most people do not like the fact that the downvote system has been removed.
Again; nothing is set in stone. The downvote might return. The option to show who voted was a very close second.
From what I'd seen, the people who'd get downvoted the most were toxic inflammatory comments.
The irony is if we still had the downvote we'd be about to see how well liked/disliked this decision is.
In short I believe the pros of having the downvote far outweigh any cons we had.
@Jakcj We're still talking about it because almost all of us liked the downvote system. I find it interesting that it was removed to promote debate and yet you want to shut it down.
Comments that go against the website guidelines should be flagged and deleted (by mods), the downvote was not intended for that.
You can still have downvotes on Forums with the 'allow downvotes'-option. You could start a discussion topic on the downvote option if you want.
I wonder if we would have this long list of replies if the downvote button was still here...
In the past I've been vexed when making an epiphanic, controversial comment which received many downvotes, but no explanation why, which I think is the biggest issue, if any. To best combat this, I think the user who downvotes should be shown to the public, and that user must reply first to downvote.
It just doesn't suffice to simply remove the downvote button. Sometimes a comment like "snyderman stomps" is simply not worth the effort of a full comment.
This is EXACTLY why you can't just downvote anymore, but have to explain WHY... You seem to contradict your own point. The only extra point you make is to force people to comment IF they downvote. How do you see that in practice? You can't downvote if you don't comment? Then they just add an empty comment, or something simular. It won't work.
Why can't we try and see if it works, instead of just assuming it won't?
@Jakcj You can't insult someone and then tell them not to take it as an insult.
@Taurus Look at a lot of forum topics. It is mandatory to put in a description, but people just put a single character in and be done with it. So it already isn't working for forum topics, why would it work for comments/replies?
@Mr_Incognito You keep saying that 'the majority', 'most people' and even 'pretty much all of us' want the downvote button back. But I don't see any numbers to back up that claim.
"Please listen to your users." I think 80% of the features currently on the website are things that users have suggested in the past. I do plenty of listening.
I suggest we leave it how it is now, without the downvote button, and evaluate at the end of this month and make a final decision.
Well, at least its apparent that the majority of users who seem to have a say want some form of a disapproval button.

@Jakcj
@BlotskyA
and @Iammoonknight (but not really)
I think making it known who upvoted/downvoted as @Mr_Incognito suggested would achieve the best of both worlds however.
@Jakcj How can you call someone a brat and not expect them to take it as an insult. Come on man! @Galactus removed it to promote debate but your the only one who wants to shut it down.
@Taurus Well apparently even @Jakcj doesn't care if the downvote comes back either now. I do believe as @Mr_Incognito suggested we are in the majority.
I already created Eä for all LotR and Hobbit related things.
(I was in a bit of a hurry... :) )
Where are those LoTR enthusiast when you need them?
*Counting only character with SHDb stats

Now wheres my big boy crown?

The Sixtyfour website will be the central hub of all my projects, including websites, apps, tools, photography, etc.
I've been using the Sixtyfour 'brand' since 2001, (first domain I registered was sixtyfour.nl, and still own it.) it's time to get a bit more serious about it. All my projects will fall under the Sixtyfour brand.
I also want to use this comment to tell everyone I will be spending most of my time building Realm Forger. This is an amazing project and I want to give it all of my attention. It started two years ago with an idea and a name, now it's time to actually create it. This doesn't mean I will ignore SHDb. I will be checking in (probably) daily, but don't expect a quick response.
And what are you talking about edit request board is completely locked out?
It's a few hours older & it was moved from the fourth.
