Doctor Strange and Doctor Fate are very even in Power, to say someone is much more powerful is only because of preference.
The plot in the World War Hulk story forced Doctor Strange to not just having the behemoth diapear. For real the Sorcerer supreme would have banished a threat as that of World War Hulk ! Destruction and civilians would have been spared.
Again only brute strength and durability is of insane level is not enough versus the most powerful superheroes there is who got realy high Versatility. In my mind about ten superheroes is powerful enough to either beat World War Hulk or banish him and solve the situation.

No matter what happened with Doctor Strange, it doesn't matter because we are talking about Doctor Fate, who is much more powerful than Doctor Strange. And Fate can actually banish Hulk to his own dimension where he can do whatever he wants to Hulk.

When Strange is in Astral form he tells Hulk "I could snuff the feeble flame of a mortal life with the merest twitch of the finger"..."but I am also your friend" this is page 88 of World War Hulk in trade form digital version.

Though to be fair, I'm not sure Strange could of hurt him outside of banishing him to Hell or removing him from existence.

@SirSpidey why are you talking about Thor?
Doctor Strange allowed Hulk close because he did not hurt him and tried to talk him down, which is why he eventually lost the battle. Once he had bonded with Zom, He also stopped fighting Hulk after they were trading blows due to possibly hurting civilians when Hulk dropped him. I wouldn't say Hulk obliterated Doctor Strange.

Anyways, all Thor has to do is rip off Doctor Fates helmet and he is useless, he would obliterate Doctor Fate just the same way as he obliterated Doctor Strange

What ACTUALLY happened was Doctor Strange said he could just teleport him to another planet (not another dimension) but it would be pointless because World War Hulk would just come back angrier and more powerful. Then World War Hulk crushes Doctor Stranges hands so that Doctor Strange was at half power but then Doctor Strange summons Zom, a being that only the Living Tribunal could stop. Doctor Strange, with a considerable amount of Zoms power, gets a few shots on World War Hulk but ultimatley gets beat by pure force. Thats how the Actual fight turned out, I dont know what comic your reading.

Other heroes actually begged Dr. Strange to just portal him away to another dimension as easily as "a wave of your hand" but Strange said they created the mess, they should clean it up. Hulk beat Strange because Strange didn't want to kill him or send him away. I literally just re-read World War Hulk yesterday.

Doctor Strange could have defeated Hulk, but that would be a boring story and the writers just didn't want Hulk to be defeated so easily and quickly. Once Fate takes Hulk into his own realm, he would be in full control of the situation and could change the dimension to fit him however he desires.

If Doctor Fate would just portal him away ( which would not work because Wold War Hulk would still kill him), why didnt Doctor Strange do the same? Because Hulk was too fast? Maybe because it would be pointless?

Voted: Doctor Fate

That wouldn't be the case with Fate because Fate would just portal Hulk away and then destroy him in in is own dimension.

If you actually read Marvel comics, you would know that World War Hulk completely obliterated Doctor Strange
