It really shows how Superman is very, very fast in a planetary atmosphere, but, unless he goes outside of an orbit, lightspeed is not an option for him(not near it actually). It would also not be an option for most of those others in the DC universe, besides Flash, Lanterns, and a few others. So, those that can move at faster than the speed in the topic can defeat him within a planet. Not only that, multiple blasters could definitely pepper him with their weapons.

I MENTIONED THIS, BECAUSE SM FANS ARE SOOOOO OVERBLOWN IN THEIR SUPERMAN SPEEDBLITZ THEORIES!
